SMS consent & enrollment

This page documents how recipients consent to receive operational SMS and MMS messages from CyberEOC. CyberEOC is a B2B platform at cybereoc.com. End users do not opt in by texting a keyword (no JOIN/START/YES flow).

Who receives messages

Team contacts — field and operations staff enrolled by an authorized administrator of a subscribing organization. These contacts receive operational updates on behalf of their organization; they do not receive marketing or promotional messages.

Call to action (verbal consent)

End users opt in through verbal consent only. They do not text a keyword and do not complete a public website signup for SMS. Before a mobile number is added, the enrolling organization's authorized administrator reads the consent script below; the recipient must clearly agree. SMS is optional — team contacts may receive email alerts without SMS. Consent is not required for employment or platform use.

Verbal consent script (read before enrollment)

[Organization Name] invites you to receive optional operational SMS/MMS from CyberEOC on our behalf, including incident situational updates with map links and NOAA/NWS weather advisories for monitored locations. Message frequency varies and is event-driven. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile numbers are not shared with third parties for marketing. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Do you agree?

The recipient must clearly agree. Messaging consent is separate from general terms of service and is not required to use unrelated services.

Enrollment in CyberEOC (after consent)

  1. The organization's authorized administrator signs in at cybereoc.com.
  2. In the account dashboard, open Team contacts (Account section).
  3. Add the recipient's first name, last name, email, and optional Phone (SMS) mobile number.
  4. SMS is sent only to contacts with a phone number on file and only when the organization's SMS add-on is enabled.

The team contact form collects: First name, Last name, Email (required), Phone (SMS, optional). Administrators add contacts only after obtaining consent as described above.

Message types

  • Operator-initiated updates: incident notes, secure read-only map share links, optional map snapshot images (MMS).
  • Automated weather advisories: NOAA/NWS watches, warnings, and advisories for geo-coded locations the organization monitors (when enabled).

Required disclosures

  • Brand: CyberEOC (on behalf of the enrolling organization)
  • Frequency: Varies; event-driven. Many contacts receive no messages until an incident or qualifying weather alert occurs.
  • Rates: Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP to cancel SMS for that number.
  • Help: Reply HELP or contact the enrolling organization or info@cybereoc.com.
  • Mobile numbers: Not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing. Used only to deliver operational messages requested by the enrolling organization via our SMS provider.

No keyword opt-in

CyberEOC does not use SMS keywords for subscription. Recipients cannot text JOIN, START, or YES to opt in. There is no automated "you are subscribed" confirmation text sent upon enrollment.
